From France to Antigua - Crossing The Atlantic!

After a busy few weeks of prepping and fine-tuning at the BMS shipyard in Canet-en-Roussillon, France, our beautiful 63-foot catamaran, Saideira, finally began her much anticipated journey to the Caribbean. The adventure kicked off in early November as the captain and delivery crew sailed south to the Canary Islands. This strategic stop allowed for a final reprovisioning and a patient wait for the perfect weather window.

On November 17th, Saideira caught the breeze and turned her bows toward the horizon, beginning the long trek across the Atlantic. The crossing was a sailor’s dream: the crew enjoyed sunny skies, calm seas, and the steady push of the trade winds. Interestingly, despite the vastness of the ocean, the crew felt a profound sense of solitude, noting they didn't spot a single other yacht throughout the entire transit—though they did host a weary feathered hitchhiker who rested on deck for two days!

Life on board was a perfect blend of modern capability and timeless tradition. While the yacht is equipped with top-tier electronics, the crew embraced the romance of the sea by navigating "old-school" with a sextant and the stars.

Between fresh catches for dinner and the well-planned provisions from the Canaries, the team arrived in Antigua on December 6th feeling refreshed and ready to go. There was no time to rest, however; the crew immediately sprang into action to get Saideira sparkling for the annual Charter Broker Show at Nelson’s Dockyard. She looked absolutely stunning and put on a great show for the brokers, proving that she is as elegant as she is seaworthy. We couldn’t be prouder of our crew and the incredible durability Saideira showed on her very first inaugural crossing!
